This video is an informative look at the factors that are causing our current financial and economic crisis. It discusses policy changes 13 years ago that unleashed the sub-prime mortgage-backed securities market, which accelerated prices erratically, inviting speculation and loose lending practices which were both condoned and encouraged by existing regulation and carried out by risk-blind executives and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Aside from ripping the corporate goons in the media, please be respectful in your comments. Thanks. Obama Bombshell Redistribution of Wealth Audio Uncovered

1. Reps blocked O’s attempt to create a bi-partisan commission to examine fed spending and look for ways to lower the deficit
2. Health Bill -requires a super-majority and will be blocked by Reps.
3. Consrvtive Supreme Court voted to remove caps on Corporate Campaign funding, thus blocking campaign reform efforts.
4. Repubs block Obamas plan on tax Loopholes. bit[DOT]ly/daIKWn
5. bit[DOT]ly/cHB23l -Another bill blocked
List goes on and on. thats why they are being called Obstructionists.

I accidently posted from the wrong account. Replace the [DOT]’s with real dots to visit the urls.
Do a simple search on “Republicans block Obama”, and you’ll see plenty. Thats why he recently spoke directly to the Repubs to try to get their support. bit[DOT]ly/cKRZaO
This video is Obama taking on the entire Repub Caucus. Also, search “Outfoxed part 1″ here on youtube so you can see where all the negative stuff about Obama comes from. Know your source!

If I’m lying, then what is this all about? This came out today. Furthermore, I don’t have a party. Do you? I have presented you with just a small sample of examples, each of which proves you are wrong. Who’s delusional? Some issues require a super-majority. And others that only require a majority might not necessarily have all of the Democratic votes. If all of the Repubs ban together to block everything, it makes it difficult to pass anything. they r just being politicians
ankitxbox on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
Yes, lets vote no to the stimulus, no to TARP, no to extending unemployment benefits, yayyyy Republicans.
ankitxbox on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
Less than 8% of subprime mortgages are attributable to CRA. This video is a bunch of lies and distortions. The CRA played a insignificant role in the crisis and the economic development and expansion that happened in poorer neighborhoods in the ’80s and ’90s that brought crime down would be impossible w/o CRA.
Deregulation was key to causing this crisis. Voting for politicians who favor less oversight over financial institutions makes no sense whatsoever.

I’ll bet you think Obama is a genius?
vileric on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
Apparently tneighbors just reads headlines rather than dig beyond it. I read most of the things you posted and it’s been speculation about what repubs will do, or repubs blocking reckless spending. In the NYT article it even states that by them blocking it they were forcing the govt. to spend $19bil less and preventing $7bil+ in earmarks from being set. Do you even read what you post are do you just blindly follow what a headline says rather than actually read?

as a conservative, I absolutely loved this video. Any liberals able to refute this? What’s your side of the story?

Deregulate banking until chaos prevails. This is the knuckleheaded logic of Republicans. To cut to the chase the banks became insolvent with junk securities. Because the same banks also handled commercial paper the entire system was on the brink of collapse. Why do you think Bush agreed to the bailout. There is blame on both sides of the aisle DUH!
w5cdt on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
There’s plenty of blame on BOTH sides. Quit making propaganda movies to exunerate the Republicans! Most Americans don’t even understand what happed due to the political noise surrounding this issue. Read up or shutup.
Rangerday1 on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
@tneighbors —libs don’t need repubs to pass ANY SINGLE PIECE OF LEGISLATION! Repubs haven’t blocked ANYTHING. They are in the minority…if zero, pelosi and reid can’t get the job done then it is ENTIRELY their fault and their fault alone. Quit lying like the rest of your delusional party.

The sub prime mess is only covering up the Derivatives SCAM. THAT is what has wrecked things more than sub prime.

all I can say is “WOW” many of us have been screaming about this cheep housing money for over a decade, only to be called “racist” then it did what we predicted it would… crash our economy, and we are called “closed minded” simply amazing
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
Hey Rachel. You should check out this video. Yesterday Obama spoke to the entire Republican Caucus, welcoming questions and debate. One Obama in a room full of the Republicans who keep blocking everything he does. bit[DOT]ly/cKRZaO
Replace the [DOT] with a real dot. Also, note this: the GDP is up 6 percent in the last 3 months, for a total turn around of 12 percent in the last year -the fastest increase in nearly 3 decades. Housing market has leveled off and Unemployment will follow. just watch

Oil going up is not a root cause. What caused the oil to go up? Could it have been the war in Iraq?..one of the most oil-rich nations in the world? The war that was started by Bush and his admin. Amazing that you try to find a way to talk bad about Obama. That seems to be popular right now…among Republicans. Wish people could see through the same old polotical mudslinging that always goes on. Repubs are just trying to win the next election by talking bad about Obama. Even if they must lie.
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
I’m not loyal to any party, but right now I see the GOP just trying to sabotage Obama’s presidency so they can win the next election. They block EVERYTHING he tries to do. Healthcare reform, forming a team to solve our financial crisis, Campaign reform, Carbon Emissions reductions …EVERYTHING! These are all, in my opinion, good things and they were all blocked by Repubs. I can understand that some people value freedom of enterprise over humanitarianism, but this is just shady politics..
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
you really should read sites that aren’t biased. Try this one:
bit[DOT]ly/6yEkaa
replace the [DOT] with a real dot. Notice this article doesn’t have slanderous, one sided info printed all over it. Its about how the [conservative] senate just voted to remove the cap on corporate campaign contributions. This will certainly increase corruption/special interest lobbying. They called it “free speech”. Most republicans are happy about it. This is shady and reflects the corruption in the GOP.
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
read enough of it to see that its one of the most biased sites/articles I’ve ever read. Ask a socialist if Obama is a socialist. They will tell you -absolutely not. Anyone saying he is socialist, is misled or lying. He, just like most right-wingers just attacks and slings mud and makes stuff up. He also puts words in his mouth “According to Obama, capitalism has been “rendered . . . a colossal failure.” Obama never said that about capitalism. Sorta like you saying I said you were closed minded.
soulfullyanointed on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
@tneighbors Did you read the American Thinker article that I cited? Did you? And you’re calling me the one with a closed mind? Hmmm….
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
do you call everyone “mentally challenged” if they don’t agree with your hateful opinion and sweeping generalizations? Why blame Dems for all probs and let the people who were calling the shots during the downfall and 7 years prior? It wasn’t their fault right? Sounds like you are finding ways to believe what you want to believe and not whats really true.
tneighbors on 12 Feb 2010 at 4:48 pm #
I wish the 2 party system would go away. People seem to think this is a football game or something. And candidates block others’ efforts just to win the next election. If its true that some Democrats blocked early efforts to thwart the prob, that was a bad call on their part. But that doesn’t mean that all Dems are to blame. Similarly, it sucks that the GOP are grouping together to block all efforts being made by Dems now..good or bad. Down with the party system. This isn’t a football game.
